Wtf I saw you use regular power steering fluid I just replaced rack and used regular fluid now pump shot bled perfect
@@macd9861 The original power steering fluid is ATF+4. The Prestone universal power steering fluid is compatible and shouldn't cause pump failure. If it's noisy I would let it sit overnight with the cap off and redu the bleeding procedure.
Very good how to/tutorial. Very helpful. Thanks for this video. Saved me $1700 over taking it to the dealer. Dealer cost was $2400 for total timing belt, water pump and pulleys. My material cost was $700 but I also changed on the passenger side motor mount while I had it loose. Good thing because the rubber in the mount was toast. Again, very clean efficient how to video.

Swapped starter after having exact issues as you did, still won’t start. Any ideas?
@@garymarshall4539 These have two other issues. 1. Under the air filter box there is a large ground going to the body. Take it off, clean it up and reinstall. 2. With a scan tool make sure the transmission is recognizing that it is in park or neutral. Let us know how it goes 👍
Hey man I really need your help, I’m doing this job and I watched someone else’s video to time the engine and they said that passenger camshaft lobe has to be facing approximately 11’o clock position on cylinder 1. Is that true or it doesn’t matter as long as R and L is facing up. Please brother I have to finish this soon
When my cylinder 1 lobe goes to 11’o clock position crankshaft goes to approximately 2’o clock
@@ahmedpanwala5584 Are you removing the old chain or installing the new one?
@@ahmedpanwala5584 Don't worry about the cam position too much when removing the timing chain. As long as it's not 180 degrees off. The phaser may be stuck out of time. Focus on the crank being at 12 o'clock and remove the chain like in this video. When putting it back together focus on the new chain colored links lining up with the gears and you should be set 👍
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive omg thank you so much couldn’t sleep last night haha
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive I’m installing the new one now, cylinder 1 lobe are still not facing 11’o clock but the phaser is facing up and the coloured links line up shouldn’t be a problem right?
heads up that none of the struts you list are correct for a 2012
Thanks for noticing that! For some reason the front struts got linked here instead of the rear struts. I fixed them, they should be correct 👍
This video was kinda useless to casual DIY'rs. the easier, cheaper way to test for a bad wheel speed sensor is this: 1. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector. 2. Find the two-pin connector that leads to the sensor. Connect it to a multimeter. 3. Set the multimeter to ohms. 4. Measure the resistance. It should be minimal. If the meter indicates an open condition (very high resistance) or a short, the sensor is bad. 5. Next, if the sensor passes the resistance test, set the meter to measure AC voltage. 6. Have a buddy manually spin the wheel hub. Have them do it as fast as possible. Watch the voltage on the multimeter. If it changes in accordance with the speed at which the wheel hub is rotating, the sensor should be fine. If there’s no change, or no voltage read, then the sensor is likely bad. (The amount of voltage produced is very minimal, and completely safe.) 7. Repeat the above steps as needed with the rest of the wheel speed sensors on your car.
Excellent video and appreciate for doing this video. Pls advise where I can buy the junper wire. Thanks.
Question ; if the blower motor is faulty where there is no action on any speed setting (and you've ruled out the resistor via a test light), would the a/c clutch NOT operate? Because that is what is happening on my car....I would expect the a/c clutch to cycle on/off even if the inside blower is bad. BUT it may be that the ECU senses the open circuit of the fan motor and does not turn on the a/c clutch. Thoughts?
Thank for sharing 🙏💪😎🎸🎶

is removing the manifold for the rear 3 100% necessary or just make things easier
I saw another video where they showed a way to avoid it but it looked much harder and the mechanic seemed to mention that it wouldn't work on all models.
I thought you should leave that nut on for the tie rod so you you how far to put the new one on (more accurate than counting turns).
@@MrMasterFlash Thanks for your comment. The new rack will have new inner tie rods with new nuts. They won't be in the correct spot. Counting turns will get you close but getting an alignment is required after this repair 👍
DO NOT GO BASED OFF THIS VIDEO, I MADE IT TO 2.26 MINUTES AND HAD SEEN ENOUGH ERRORS TO KNOW THIS ISNT WORTH WATCH! WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK
As long as you were going to drain the coolant, you could have removed the lower radiator hose at its engine connection and that would have allowed you to get at the lower alternator bolt much easier.
I also have to remove the transaxle in mine. Im debating if I should remove the transaxle or engine first. I was thinking I could pull the transaxle from the top if the engine was out but I'm not sure if that would be easier 🤔 any thoughts?
@@michaels2251 I haven't tried pulling the tranny out at the same time as the engine. But it should be super easy once the engine is out. Remove the inverter and see what the trans might hit if you come straight up with it. If you try let us know 👍

Can I get some help here. I watched at least 5 videos on this n none of them finished up timing belt setup with turning the crank 2 revolutions. The instructions that came with Aisin kit 026 says to do that. So I did what it said n after 2 revs it back to TDC, the cam belt lines were off by a mile. It says everything should line up again, but it didn't. Am I somehow off timing now? What can I do. To add, I did do another 6 turns to get the cam lines to line up to marks again, well closer anyway. Only 1/2" off now. What do I do? It seemed fine turning the crank I felt compression resistance.
@@tomgaffney740 Don't worry about the belt lines. They won't line up after you turn the crank twice. What you want to line up are the marks on the gears. The cams should be at 12 o'clock and the crank should match the mark on the engine. Time index 20:49. Let me know if that helps 👍
@ValleyMobileAutomotive hello, n thank you for reply. I agree I figure how could they line up but from instructions it seems that's what they want. So what about me turning the crank 8 times n bringing belt lines back to within 2 teeth?
@@tomgaffney740 It doesn't mean anything. If you turn the crank enough times eventually the lines will line back up. Once the belt is on and the crank is turned the lines no longer matter. They are only used for initial installation.
Ok, sounds good but what about me turning the crank 10 times, did I cause any problems at all? I mean did I cause a chance of piston valve collision?
@@tomgaffney740 not if the belt was lined up before turning the engine. You should be good 👍
Bro, maybe I missed it. You did not mention why you are replacing it. What symptoms you had.
So if that pulley bolt ever comes loose, then kaboom engine, right?
Thanks really helped
Thank you for the video, it helped a lot. The one thing that I encountered was the bottom bolt of the thermostat was pretty difficult to get to. Other than that, it was a breeze. My wife's vehicle is a 2016 Chrysler Town & Country and was exactly as what was shown here.
But what you’re not telling people is. That you cannot with the engine idle and idle and idle for many hours, that’s the problem of low oil pressure Because of idling too damn long at times and your oil pressure also drops down to 28 psi when idling trust me I’ve done all the studies on this engine and another thing is not breaking it in properly that can cause a problem you sit here and put your foot through the floor. Does it help the situation at all either you have to break these engines in slowly meaning is due to speed limit on the highway and take your time until it passes 90,000 miles I have a 2017 jeep Wrangler unlimited with the same engine and I’m already passed $113,000 and I still don’t have that problem so it comes from not breaking in your engine properly and bending the engine idle for long period of time hotter under low oil pressure at 28 PSI
This is my first time working on anything. Big Job😊 your a Great Help😊

Great video man, just what I had going on. But what to do about the bad clockspring??
I have a link in the video for the repair 👍
Going to replace mine soon along with sway bar links and an alignment hoping it fixes my crooked steering wheel and crooked front wheels
I think you'll be happy with the results after the alignment. If you have any questions feel free to drop them in the comments. Or just update us on how it went 👍
Just curious… what was the underlining symptom that lead to this replacement?
Honestly I can't remember on this particular vehicle but a main symptom of worn out bushings is a clunking noise on acceleration or braking. A clunk can come from other components as well so make sure you check all the suspension where the noise is coming from. It is possible to have a torn/bad bushing without noise. If that's the case then you would still need to replace it but you would only see the tear visually.
I was wrong to commit to this job by purchasing the the six replacement spark plugs and six replacement ignition coils. This is too much work. This is not at all like changing the spark plugs and ignition coils on my daughter's 2002 Camry LE 2.4 liter four cylinder engine. I'm going to pay my independent mechanic to do this job. He is very cooperative and he will use the Toyota Spark Plugs and Denso Ignition coils that I have already purchased. Thanks for the walk through. You are obviously a skilled mechanic and I can see that this job is for a skilled mechanic.
I'm glad you have someone you can depend on to help you with this job.
Thanks super simple and easy
You're welcome! glad you were able to get it fixed 🙂
Thanks!
Thanks for the support! Glad this video was helpful.
This was the best in-depth diagnosis I've seen yet. This was extremely helpful for me. This same problem occurred after I repaired the connector and installed an after market cam sensor. Big mistake. Do not use aftermarket china parts. The aftermarket part was the only one available at the time that I needed one.
Thanks! Glad this video was helpful
So I neglected to mark the old belt - now the crankshaft timing mark is a little off when the camshaft marks line up after 6 revolutions (which they do). Am I in for taking the belt off and redoing it?
Does it look like it's a full belt tooth off?
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive Yes, just about exactly!
@@GeraldTilma Silly question but are you turning the engine by hand with the belt tensioner deployed or does it still have the lock pin in it?
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive I installed the new tensioner, removed the pin and then hand-cranked the crankshaft. I'm resolved at the moment to removing the tensioner, rerouting the belt (more taut on the right side as I go this time) and repeating the manual cranking test. My Aisin kit says as much: ensure marks are aligned, but if not "repeat installation and tensioning procedure." 🤷
@@GeraldTilma Sounds like a good plan. Let us know how it goes 👍
